The River Calder

The River Calder is a river in Yorkshire, flowing through the West Riding, and forming Calderdale, the dale carving through some of the West Riding's great industrial areas. It is a tributary of the River Aire.

It flows for a distance of around 45 miles through Cornholme, Todmorden, Eastwood, Hebden Bridge, Mytholmroyd, Luddendenfoot, Sowerby Bridge, Copley, Elland, Brighouse, Mirfield, Dewsbury, Horbury Bridge and on to Wakefield where West Riding has its latest addition to the club waters.

West Riding have a stretch on the River Calder at Stanley around 0.3miles long. This is a new stretch to the club and the members are still getting to know what it holds.

A variety of methods can be used to catch the following types of fish. Dace, Roach and Pike that all thrive within the River Calder.
