Join Our Working Parties: Where Passion Meets Purpose!

At West Riding Angling, we take great pride in the preservation and enhancement of our river stretches and still waters. We believe that by dedicating our time and effort to maintain these precious ecosystems, we not only contribute to their health but also create a thriving angling community.
That's why we invite all our members to participate in our Working Parties—an incredible opportunity to give back, connect with fellow anglers, and deepen your understanding of the waters you love to fish.
Our Working Parties are more than just a day of hard work; they are a gathering of like-minded individuals who share a common love for angling and a desire to make a positive impact. Picture yourself amidst the picturesque backdrop of our river stretches or serene still waters, working side by side with fellow anglers, rolling up your sleeves, and getting your hands dirty.
As we come together to maintain and improve our fishing spots, there's an undeniable sense of camaraderie that emerges. It's a chance to meet new people who share your passion, swap stories of memorable catches, and learn valuable insights about the waters we so deeply cherish.
During our Working Parties, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with experienced anglers and gain invaluable knowledge about the local environment, fish species, and habitat conservation. From removing invasive species to clearing debris and improving access points, each task contributes to the overall health and sustainability of our waters.
Not only will you be helping to create a better angling experience for yourself and future generations, but you'll also be fostering a strong sense of community spirit. The bonds you forge during these working days will extend beyond the riverbank, creating lasting friendships and a support network of anglers who share your love for the sport.

Together, we can make a difference, one river stretch and still water at a time. Your enthusiasm, dedication, and willingness to volunteer your time are what make our angling community truly special.

Preserving Our Waters: Together for Conservation!

At West Riding Angling, we hold the conservation of our rivers and still waters close to our hearts. We understand that a healthy ecosystem is not only essential for the well-being of fish and wildlife but also vital for the enjoyment and sustainability of our beloved sport. That's why we are proud to collaborate closely with the Angling Trust to actively engage in river conservation efforts.
Over the past year, we have taken significant strides in protecting and nurturing our precious waterways. Through our partnership with the Angling Trust, we have planted an impressive 1200 trees along our riverbanks. These trees serve as vital natural buffers, preventing soil erosion, improving water quality, and providing valuable shade and habitat for aquatic life.
In addition to tree planting, our dedicated members have organized frequent litter picks, ensuring that our river stretches remain pristine and free from pollution. By removing debris and waste from the riverbanks, we not only create a visually appealing environment but also safeguard the health of fish, birds, and other wildlife that call these waters home.
Water conservation goes beyond individual efforts; it requires collective action and a shared commitment. That's why we actively encourage our members to get involved in these conservation initiatives. By participating in tree planting and litter picks, you become stewards of our rivers, actively contributing to their long-term preservation.
Through these conservation activities, you'll have the opportunity to connect with fellow anglers who share your passion for protecting our natural resources. You'll swap stories, exchange knowledge, and forge lasting friendships, all while working towards a common goal: ensuring that our rivers remain healthy, vibrant, and sustainable for generations to come.

At West Riding Angling, we firmly believe that angling and conservation go hand in hand. By actively engaging in river conservation efforts, we not only enhance the angling experience but also contribute to the broader environmental well-being of our communities.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to every member who has dedicated their time and energy to river conservation. Your commitment and enthusiasm are inspiring, and your contributions make a tangible difference in the health of our rivers.

As we continue our journey in river conservation, we invite all members to join us in our efforts. Together, let's protect and cherish our rivers, ensuring that they remain a sanctuary for fish, wildlife, and anglers alike.

Thank you for being a part of West Riding Angling and for standing alongside us in our commitment to Water conservation.

Growth and Improvement

The West Riding Angling Club is steadfast in its pursuit of growth and development opportunities to enhance the still waters and river stretches under its management. The club recognizes the importance of continually improving angling experiences while ensuring the sustainability and responsible use of these precious resources. With a focus on peg marking, hard-standing platforms, and peg accessibility improvements, West Riding is dedicated to providing its members with exceptional fishing environments.

The installation of hard-standing platforms is another priority for West Riding Angling Club. These purpose-built structures offer anglers stable and secure platforms from which to fish, particularly in areas where natural conditions may be challenging. Hard-standing platforms enhance accessibility for anglers of all abilities, ensuring an inclusive fishing experience. By investing in these platforms, the club demonstrates its commitment to providing comfortable and safe fishing environments that can be enjoyed by all its members.

Furthermore, West Riding Angling Club recognizes the importance of peg accessibility improvements. By regularly assessing and enhancing the accessibility of fishing pegs, the club ensures that anglers can comfortably and easily access their designated spots. This may involve creating steps, or clearing vegetation to provide unobstructed access. By prioritizing peg accessibility, the club fosters an inclusive angling community in which all members can enjoy the sport without unnecessary barriers.
