The River Nidd

The River Nidd is about 50 miles long rising on Great Whernside and flowing to become a tributary of the Ouse near the site of the battle of Marston Moor. It is the fourth longest of Yorkshires nine rivers. The Nidd flows through Pateley Bridge, Glasshouses, Knaresborough, Summerbridge and Ripley crossing the A1 at Walshford.

West Riding Angling has a stretch 0.5 miles long in Kirk Hammerton on the River Nidd.

A variety of methods can be used to catch the following types of fish on this stretch. Chub, Barbel, Dace, Grayling, Gudgeon, Roach, Perch and Pike that all thrive within the River Nidd.
