The River Swale

Located in Yorkshire, England, the River Swale is a key tributary of the River Ure. The River Swale is approximately 73 miles in length, and its source is the joining of the Birkdale Beck and the Great Sleddale Beck in the Yorkshire Dales. It joins the River Ure near Myton-on-Swale.

West Riding Angling has nearly 3 miles across three sections on the Swale, two at Thornton Bridge near Helperby and the other at Humberton.

A variety of methods can be used to catch the following types of fish depending on which stretch you visit. Chub, Barbel, Dace, Bleak, Gudgeon, Roach, Perch and Pike that all thrive within the River Swale.
